Although Cassette is based in Sydney, Australia & Sabre in Los Angeles, USA, The two labels have long been friends, it seemed only natural then that they'd eventually pony up and have some fun collaborating on an experimental fashion eyewear release. The result is a limited edition frame inspired by a love for the fashions of the British Punk Movement of the 1970's.
The frame is handmade 4mm Acetate with oversized CR39 100%UV A/B Charcoal lenses, French comotec stainless steel hinges and silver stud detailing.
The Cassette Society and Bloom Collaboration
"[It] gave us the opportunity to create two shades that are the perfect accompaniment to our Winter 2010 Why Can't I Be You collection—an ode to the It-Girl, to her alternative posh-for-a-punk styling, her rouge lips, her iconic overnight case customised with her handstenciled skull, spilling with records and crazy getups and painted nails in gunmetal grey and denim blue. And we love the fact that $2 from every shade is donated to the Children’s Hospital Foundation giving us the opportunity to mix our love of fashion with a great cause."
